Goodbye, garbage strewn road, where the dogs of society howl...
Friday will be my last day in Bushwick. I have lived here for the last 3 years, literally surrounded by several housing projects, overhead trains and mounds of trash.
Things I will miss:
- The discount store.
- I can buy a Sidral Mundet for a mere dollar.
- The train station is 2 blocks away and it’s an express stop.
- I can get a triple decker, shampoo, make a deposit and pay my phone bill in an hour’s time.
- The nice Puerto Ricans that think Hank is awesome.
- The laundromat that uses the best smelling soap and gets our stuff extra clean.
- Our apartment (I really like the actual room, just not where it is)
Things I will NOT miss
- The trash everywhere
- The loud ass neighbors (both in the building and the hood) that think everyone wants to here their bass.
- The fact that I have to travel at least 15 minutes to go to a restaurant for a nice sit down meal.
- Food delivery is limited to pizza and the horrible, terrible Life Cafe
- Taking cars to get home
- The massive amount of stairs I have to climb.
- Our building
- The horrendous lines at the Food Dimensions
- The men that hit on me…ugh
All in all, I think this is a good idea to move. Adieu. So Long. Auf Wiedersehen. Farewell.
